The EPA will be helping holiday shoppers out with new Energy Star labels on TVs. Earlier this month we talked about Energy Star requirements toughening up on TVs, and new requirements going in place by November 1.
Well, also beginning November 1, TVs that meet EPA’s newer, more comprehensive specifications will be in stores and ready for green-minded consumers.

Bob Lutz's Global Warming Controversy Continues
Last week we posted about an interview that GM vice-chairman Bob Lutz gave to Stephen Colbert. His most controversial statement was about not believing in the "CO2 theory of global warming", which generated a lot of comments from TreeHugger readers, most of them falling into three camps:

Electric Dirt Bike: Bigger Battery than Prius Hybrid
We wrote about the Zero X last year: It's basically an electric motorcycle powered by non-toxic lithium-ion batteries. The amazing thing about the battery is that it can store 2 kWh vs. 1.31 kWh for the Toyota Prius hybrid's battery (which is NiMH, not li-ion), giving the Zero X a 40 miles range (20 if you really push it).

We typically think big screen TVs are not the most energy efficient item a home could contain. However, the Plasma Display Coalition (PDC) points out that plasma TVs over 42” are not so bad, and are getting a whole lot better.
