Solay Crystal Salt Lamps

Crystal Salt Lamps are supposedly a natural way to improve the air quality in your space. The negative ions are increased with the heating of the salt from the lamp thus benefiting people who suffer from allergies.

salt lamp review

I am not sure if the salt lamp is actually helping my allergies. The dim light makes the salt glow with a nice romantic light. However, I cannot confirm nor deny previous stated claims. There are a few different types of salt lamps (Himalayan, Polish and Persian) to choose from.

Couronne Recycled Glass Products

Think about all the vases lying around each year from the flowers you send to your mother, girlfriend or secretary. There is probably tons of glass lying around doing nothing, so why not recycle it or purchase some recycled glass?

Couronne designs glassware, plates, jars and candle holders out of recycled glass. It’s not only eco-fabulous, but it saves the virgin sand, ash and limestone from being mined.

Intoxicated Zodiac Candles and More

Intoxicated Zodiac has got to be one of the most unique websites out there for green shopping. They mix green products with alcohol and astrology and created a store full of unique, handmade candles, tote bags, muddlers and more.

Being a Virgo, a lover of liquor and a green guy, I decided to try the Virgo Soy Candle. Not only is the packaging lovely, recyclable, made from recycled materials, but it also is handmade and full of Virgo-specific ingredients.

Flor Fedora Carpet Tiles

Created from 80% post consumer fibers, Flor’s Fedora Carpet Tiles are a cheap and green way of carpeting your home. The natural feel of smooth felt resembles a fedora hat, hence the name. My home does not have hardwood floors, so I decided to test the squares in my kitchen on top of the vinyl that came with the condo. Now, vinyl is really bad for the environment, I know, but throwing it into the landfills is even worse, so placing carpet squares over the vinyl can transform a floor from something bad and ugly to something fun and eco-friendly if you choose a green product.

Flip Flop Rug

My recycled car tire welcome mat had to be relocated to a new area to make room for the new, bright and squishy flip flop floor mat. The rugged black tire mat was getting boring to look at and made my condo entryway look stale. I opted to move it to another location and replace it with a brightly colored mat made of leftovers from a flip flop company. The remnants are arranged in a diamond pattern and are really cushiony and soft.

I like the colors and the feel both with and without shoes, but the pattern leaves much to be desired. I actually think the welcome mat would look even better in a random pattern or with one type of remnant.
