Thomas Doerflein became famous because of his devotion to Knut, the world's most famous polar bear. After Knut was born in captivity at the Zoologischer Garten in Berlin and rejected by his mother, the zookeeper nurtured him round the clock, even sleeping near him in a sleeping bag and feeding him several times each night. Problematic in some ways and difficult to handle, coal is nonetheless a cheap, plentiful, mined-in-America source of heat. And with the cost of heating oil and natural gas increasingly prone to spikes, some homeowners in the Northeast, pockets of the Midwest and even Alaska are deciding coal is worth the trouble.

Germany: Israel is Greatest Threat to World Peace

Toyota: It's Lonely At The Top, Gets Credit Rating Lowered

China: Citizen reporter Zoula becomes a potential threat to state security?!

Three days ago, on Nov 20th, Zoula sent out a twitter message reporting that he could not get through the Customs from Shenzhen to Hong Kong:

I can't get in Hongkong, not allow me leave from China, I don't konw why. And I call somebody for ask help. May be OK latter.fuck blacklist.

Within a few minutes, his message got re-tweetted around and he further explained his situation:

I have the HK travel card for chinese citizens and passport, the police check all of my ID card for 30 minits then say no.

Less is More: Small Space Office by Jonas & Jonas

Just don't wax your floors too well before buying into Jonas & Jonas furniture that leans against the wall and has just two legs. They say that "the scratch and shock-resistant body of this furniture is made of high pressure laminate and allows for any kind of strain" but I would be nervous about someone accidentally kicking a leg and having it collapse.

But I do like the minimalist look and it certainly doesn't take up much space. ...

20% Renewable Energy for South Australia, 10 Years Ahead of Schedule

The ninth wind farm in South Australia just opened on the Barunga Ranges near Snowtown. Its 47 turbines, installed by Trust Power of New Zealand, (who already operate that countries largest wind farm at Tararua), are said to have a capacity to deliver over 98MW. The company reckon this renewable energy should provide sufficient power for 70,000 Australian households.
