Soaring nearly 8,000 feet high above the East Javanese horizon, Mount Bromo coughs up deadly pillars of toxic volcanic steam, sand and sulphur. But the locals don’t run from this giant tourist draw. They climb towards it. This time of year, you see, is when they feed the volcano.

Local favorites like Defiant , Chelsea Brewing , Southampton, Brooklyn Brewery and Heartland Brewery tried to make a name for themselves with national staples like Dogfish Head, Victory and Green Flash poured some interesting libations. New to the NY area are a few organic and/or green breweries such as Uinta , Peak Organic , Otter Creek /Wolavers, Magic Hat/ Orlio Organic, Flying Dog and Clipper City . ... The event was mostly an in your face, show off our brewery and get drunk, not a look what we can do, now let’s talk shop fest.

This weekend you can join the AP Bank Festival - an outdoor music festival in Tsumagoi in Shizuoka Prefecture, south west of Tokyo.
The Cradle to Cradle enchanted Dutch town Venlo is hosting the 5th FreeFunk festival this year. Last year, the festival’s turntables and LED-lightshow were powered by 12 solar panels, home trainers (!) and wind turbines. This year, the FreeFunk Festival will reduce its environmental footprint even more with 60 solar panels on the main stage to power the audiovisual equipment. ...

Another exciting week here at Leafygreen.info. We attended the Beer Festival last weekend in Atlantic City. It was a blast. Anyone see us there? We had cowboy hats on and Leafygreen.info shirts, but so many other people did too.
On April 1, we will be going to The Nets Go Green game in lovely East Rutherford, New Jersey. The New Jersey Nets are going green all over the place. From the cleaning supplies to the paper they use and they invited us down to show off our wares. Since, we don’t have wares, we’ll just be showing off ourselves.
