Redewin, a new online eco-store that sells unique vintage and reconstructed clothing, just launched last week. It offers eco-conscious consumers a new option in shopping for stylish, one of a kind clothes, and it’s great destination for choosing green clothing. ...

NY Fashion Week came and went as fast as the I’m Not a Plastic Bag fad, bringing with it a mixed tote of eco-style preview parties, cause-related events and enlightening exhibits. Descending upon the sustainable scene were runways touting eco-friendly fabrics, socially conscious brands and the latest and greatest in what we can expect to be the next green fashion trends.
However, ‘Huggers have a knack for spotting a splashy fleeting fad from a green mile away. Here are five well-crafted and eco-conscious sustainable favorites we think are here to stay:...

Me with my eco-rockin' style icon, Ali Hewson!
Though I consider it my favorite fashion line, I own only one EDUN t-shirt. It’s black and awesome and it has a bad-ass tiger print on it. Whenever I wear it, I feel sexy, cool and totally satisfied that the proceeds didn’t fund a sweat shop in China, but rather, helped drive sustainable employment in sub-Saharan Africa.

Green Girls Global: Where does my recycling go? by Katie Fewings
"It feels so virtuous putting the paper in the recycling box rather than chucking it in the bin (I hesitate every time I put something in the bin these days - asking myself if there’s anything else I can do with the item dangling over the waste abyss… or whether the god of recycling is about to strike me down!)."...

Sao Paulo, Brazil's biggest city, has its own 100% organic clothes shop: Eden, which opened its doors last month. All garments that are sold in the store are produced with organic cotton and died with natural pigments, free of harmful chemical products.
The store is also decorated with furniture produced with wood from demolition and bamboo coming from the firm Bamcrus. More pictures and info on the brand and the origin of the organic fabrics in the extended.

Nau’s Loose But Not Slutty Jeans right off the bat have an office look. They are very casual with clean lines and no trendy holes or scrapes. Nau chooses their materials very carefully which can be seen in every piece of clothing they make. These jeans are made of organic cotton with raw denim produced in Turkey. The material is twice dyed with an indigo for the beautiful blue color saturation. Mike thinks the color is too dark, but for me, it is perfection. Without any tags to take away from the design of the jeans, there are no distractions and no snagging when putting a belt on. The natural, organic denim is stiff.

Thanks to the mild climate of Sydney I luckily spend three quarters of the year wearing shorts. And I try to cycle commute. This results in embarrassing wear points developing where buttocks meet bike seat. I patch my shorts for as long as is feasible (see pic after fold), but sooner or later new shorts are required. So when Nau launched their spring line, including the Confidant Shorts with a reinforced seat the shout went up. Hallelujah! Clothing for the real world. A review of these and other Spring garments after the fold....
